CALL FOR ENROLMENT INTO DOCTORAL DEGREE PROGRAMMES 2020/2021

The candidates must submit their application for enrolment into the doctoral study programmes of the University of Ljubljana online, namely via the eVŠ online portal.

Application Deadline: 21th August 2020

1. Candidates may submit their enrolment applications in three ways:

  1. With a qualified digital certificate – the printed application form for enrolment should not be sent by mail, it should be submitted to eVŠ before the end of the application deadline. Within that deadline, candidates are required to personally deliver or send by registered mail only the attachments to the enrolment application required in the Call (an attachment must contain a reference to the number of the application for enrolment and the chosen study programme), and to do so to the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Tržaška cesta 25, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.
  2. Without a qualified digital certificate (with a user name and password) – the application form for enrolment should be sent electronically to eVŠ; it should be printed, signed and personally delivered or sent by registered mail together with the attachments required in the Call to the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Tržaška cesta 25, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, by the application deadline.
  3. With an AAI-account– the printed application form for enrolment should not be sent by mail, it should be submitted to eVŠ before the end of the application deadline. During that period, candidates are required to personally deliver or send by registered mail only the attachments to the enrolment application required in the Call (an attachment must contain a reference to the number of the application for enrolment and the chosen study programme), and to do so to the above address.

An application will be considered timely if:

  1. it is completed, furnished with an electronic signature and submitted with a qualified digital certificate to eVŠ by the end of the application deadline, 21st August 2020,
  2. it is submitted to eVŠ by the end of the application deadline, printed, signed and sent by registered mail to the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Tržaška cesta 25, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia by the end of the application deadline, 21st August 2020,
  3. it is completed with an AAI-account and submitted to eVŠ by the end of the application deadline, 21st August 2020.

 

2. Candidates with foreign certificates of education

Candidates applying for enrolment with foreign certificates of education should submit, via the eVŠ portal, both their application to the Call, which is at the same time an application for the recognition of education qualifications for the purpose of further education, by means of which they prove that they meet the enrolment criteria.

In these procedures, applications for the recognition of foreign education will only be processed and considered if they arrive on time and in the prescribed form (e-application submitted with a digital certificate or filled out with an AAI-account, while e-applications without a digital certificate will only be considered if they are also submitted in paper form and are furnished with the applicant’s handwritten signature).

 

3. Fees for doctoral degree

Tuition fees for Doctoral Degree Programmes at the University of Ljubljana for the academic year 2020/2021

 

4. Access to the doctoral study programme Electrical Engineering is granted to candidates who have completed:

  • a 2nd cycle study programme;
  • a study programme educating for professions regulated by EU directives or another coherent Master’s study programme awarding 300 ECTS;
  • a study programme leading to university education adopted prior to 11 June 2004;
  • a study programme leading to the Master of Science title; candidates are granted 60 ECTS for the completed study components;
  • a specialisation study programme, as well as previously completing a study programme leading to university education, adopted prior to 11 June 2004; candidates are granted 60 ECTS for the completed study components;
  • a study programme leading to a specialisation, as well as previously completing a higher education professional programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004, provided the candidates have also completed additional study components awarding 36 ECTS, as determined by the relevant committee of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering from among the 1st year subjects of the 2nd cycle Electrical Engineering programme: four compulsory professional subjects depending on the study option and two elective professional subjects;
  • an equivalent programme of another university. The equivalence of education previously acquired abroad is ascertained through the procedure for the recognition of foreign qualifications with a view to access to further education in accordance with Article 121 of the UL Statutes.

 

5. Selection criteria in the case of limited enrolment

In the selection of candidates, 2nd cycle performance is taken into account as follows:

  • The average 2nd cycle grade excluding the grade for the Master’s thesis and its defence, or the average grade of university studies adopted prior to 11 June 2004, excluding the grade for the graduation thesis and its defence. Grade x 7
