We are looking to strengthen our team at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and announce an immediate job opening for a

1. PhD Position in the Area of Digitally Assisted RF-Transceivers.

You will be part of the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Digitally Assisted RF-Transceivers for Future Mobile Communications hosted by the Institute of Signal Processing and the Institute for Communications Engineering and RF-Systems. Furthermore, the position offers the possibility to work in close cooperation with a leading industrial partner.

Job Duties:

  • Research in the area of signal processing and communications engineering
  • Development and testing of algorithms for future mobile communication devices
  • Dissemination of the results at international conferences and in international journals

Your Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or in a closely related field of study
  • Language English and/or German

The minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 2.731,00 gross per month.

2. PhD Position in the Area of Sparsity Aware Signal Processing at the Institute of Signal Processing

Job Duties:

  • Research in the area of compressed sensing and sparsity aware signal processing
  • Development and evaluation of novel algorithms in selected application areas
  • Dissemination of the results at international conferences and in international journals

Your Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering, respectively, or in closely related field of study
  • Strong background in signal processing
  • Independent and self-motivated working
  • Language English and/or German

3. PhD Position in the Area of Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing at the Institute of Signal Processing
This position offers the possibility to work in close cooperation with a leading industrial partner.

Job Duties:

  • Research in the area of acoustics, speech and signal processing
  • Development and evaluation of algorithms for an improved speech recognition in voice assistance devices
  • Noise reduction
  • De-reverberation
  • Beamforming
  • Source localization
  • Dissemination of the results at international conferences and in international journals

Your Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Audio Engineering, Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, respectively, or in a closely related field of study
  • Strong background in signal processing
  • Independent and self-motivated working
  • Additional background in speech processing desirable
  • Language English and/or German
